Humboldt Telephone company billing Inserts and Messages

Message to our Customers:

On June 07, 2018 the FCC removed the application of the FUSF tax on certain elements of DSL service for customers of small rural telephone companies like Humboldt Telephone Company.  As a result of the change, DSL customers will see a percentage decrease in the FUSF amount charged on their monthly bill.  This change is effective July 03, 2018.

A new DSL tariff has been filed with the FCC and is expected to be approved in July 2018.  The new tariff increases the price on some elements of DSL services.  The result is the price we charge on some DSL services will increase.  This is the first rate increase on any DSL service in our area in the last 3 years.  If there is a silver lining here it is that some higher speed DSL service rates will be decreasing.  At the same time, we will introduce some new, higher speed DSL services in our areas.  If you have been looking at increasing the speed of your DSL plan, this may be a good time to call us and discuss our new offerings.  The new rates will be applied once the tariff is approved.  We will release more information about the new rates and plans in the near future.   As always any DSL plan is only available where our facilities permit us to offer that service.

Effective July 1st, 2018 the amount of the Federal Universal Service Charge (FUSC) appearing on your bill each month will decrease as a result of a decrease in the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) universal service fund contribution factor from 18.4% to 17.9%.  The Federal Universal Service Fund program is designed to keep local telephone service rates affordable for all customers, in all areas of the United States.  Any complaints regarding the monthly Federal Universal Service Charge (FUSC) should be filed directly with the FCC.

Effective July 1, 2018, the Nevada Public Utilities Commission approved a decrease on the TDD Surcharge from $.07 to $.06 per access line per month on all end user business and residential services.
